UNIVERSITY EXAMINATIONS
Christchurch, April 26, A special meeting of the University Senate was held at Christchurch yesterday to consider the reports of the examiners in the examination for degrees, honours, and senior scholarships. The meeting would have taken place earlier, bub the forwarding of the report from England was delayed by the serious illness of one of the examiners. m.a. degree. The followingobtainedhonours in arts : First Class. —J. M. Marshall, Canterbury, in mathematics ; F. G. Gibbs, Canterbury, in Latin and English ; J. H. Green, Auckland, in chemistry; L. Williams, Canterbury, in Latin and English; E. Lamb, Canterbury, in Latin and English ; F. S. Weston, Canterbury, in political science; J. M. Beattie, Otago, in geology. Second Class. —McLean, Canterbury, in Latin and English ; J. H. Turner, Canterbury, in Latin and Greek; J. Marshall, Canterbury, in Latin and Greek ; W. Riddell, Otago, in political science. Third Class.-—H. Shrewsbury, Auckland, in geology; E. M. Adams, Auckland, in Latin and French ; G. M. Sinclair, Auckland, in Latin and English; R. G. Whitter, Otago, physical science; T. H. Gill, Otago, in mental science; A. Begg, Otago, in Latin and English ; J. Moss, Otago, in mental science; R. Palmer, Otago, in physical science ; J. C. Duncan, Otago, in chemistry; J.
