The water is now stationery at Bourke, and it is expected that three weeks will elapse before it recedes. Nine hundred women and children are living under canvas in North Bourke. Rations are being served out daily to many destitute families and individuals. North Bourke is nbw an island of about three miles square and ten feet above the water level of high water.
