Aroha, before the Council again, tt being found that the resolution carried at the last special meeting of the Council, vesting the control of the road in the Te Aroha Town Board had been done in a manner that left a doubt as lo the legality of the proceeding. . i , Cr Mills accordingly again moved a resolution in tftii direction, which Cr, Murphy seconded* ~ L The Chairman thought the best way out of the difficulty would be for , the Council to subsidise the Town’Board, they (the Board) on their part undertaking to keep the road and footpaths in a good state of repair. 1 -
Cr Mills said the Town Board would be willing to accept that way out of the difficulty, and, with the consent of his seconder, withdrew the motion., . . Cr Hanmer again mentioned Bridgestreet, and it was agreed to also iuclude that street in the subsidy.
