LANGTRY AND GEBHARD.

GEBHARD OBJECTS TO TITLED CALLERS. A New York cable message says : Frederick Gebhard, the devoted admirer of Lily Langtry, is sad. He has SBO,OOO a year, and yet he is sad. The Langtry and Fred Gebhard have parted in anger. The fondness of many years has moled. He arrived from England yesterday on the steamship Lahn. For months the two have been drifting apart. It has always been Mrs Langtry’s ambition bo retu r n to London, the scene of her triumphs as a professional beauty before she became an actress, bub she would not do that until she had made a great deal of money, enough to withstand serious loss, if necessary. So she remained in America making no end of money, and Fred Gebhard was ever with her. When Langtry left New York last summer for England Gebhard did not accompany her. It was only when it was learned in this country that Mrs Langtry was ill that he departed oh a few hours’ notice. The immediate cause of the estrangement between Gebhard and Mrs Langtry was the fact that the Prince of Wales called upon her at an inopportune time, as far as Gebhard was concerned. Immediately on Gebhard’s arrival in the British capital be went to the hotel where Mrs Langtry was stopping and engaged rooms there. Then he sent his card to the beauty. Bub Mrs Langtry was nob at leisure. The Prince of Wales was calling on her. Gebhard could nob be received, then. When Gebhard did see Mrs Langdry there was war. A few days later Mr Gebhard went to Southampton, where h& boarded the Lahn and returned home.
