RETURN MATCH ANNAN--13 ALE V. MORRINSVILLE. This match was played at Morrinsville on Easter Monday before a large number of spectators, there being over a hundred persons present. For these the recently formed Morrinsville Cricket Club had made all arrangements in the way of having a large number of seats provided and an awning erected. The game started shortly after 11 a.m , Annandale first going to the wickets ; their innings closing for 48. Tbo principal feature of the inning? was the wretched fielding by Mnrriusyiile, catch after catch being missed. Morrinsville then went to the wickeds, and after two wickets had fallen an adjournment was made for lunch. At this stage I should like to mention the sumptuous lunch prepared by the Morrinsville ladies ; particularly noticeaide among whom were Meslames TLu’risnn, Schofield, Turnbull, Marshall, Snell, Rowe, and the Misses Murrell. For quality and quantity it would be difficult to’ surpass. The table, which seated about *25 persons, was laid three times for lunch. The Morrinsville innings closed for 68 Annandale then went in for their second innings but could only score 24. Morrin-ville then followed and made the required number —5, without the loss of a wicket. It was decided, however, to continue the innings, which closed for 64, when the refreshment table w»9 again visited. In justice to the Annandale team it should be 9aid they were placed nt a disadvantage, two or three of their strongest players being unable to take part in the match. Mr Tbos. Marshall acted as umpire for Morrinsville, aad Mr Thos Williams for Annandale. Subjoined are the full scores • Moebinsyille, Ist Innings.
