The “World’s” special from Teheran says the Shah gave a grand fete on _ March stb in honour of the betrothal of his daughter with his favourite page, Aziz. The decorations for the festival rivalled the splendours described in the “ Arabian Nights.” There were thousands of beautiful women dancers, and showers of coin were thrown among the poor to be scrambled for. The Shah gave his page a magnificent estate near the capital, and has caused a decree to be published bequeathing the imperial curse to any of his descendants who attempt to deprive the page of his property
