Mary Anderson’s Marriage.
Miss Mary Anderson’s marriage will be one of the great events of next season, and Londoners will rejoice that she has provided them, rather than New Yorkers, with the excitement of her wedding. The beautiful Oratory at Brompton is, according to present arrangements, to be the scene of the important function ; and doubtless even its vast accommodation will be insufficient for the demands made upon it. Mr Navarro, the bridegroom, is a very handsome young man, and the pair should make an ideal match. It is rather too early to speculate as to the gown in which the beautiful American actress will appear abbhe altar, but one cannot help wondering whether the eyes of expectant women will be charmed by the classical draperies so dear to Miss Anderson, or whether she will exhibit that extreme simplicity in the choice of the important gown that she invariably manifests in her everyday attire. It may be predicted that the children of Mr William Black, the novelist, will play an important part in the ceremony. Miss Anderson’s future husband is the ton of a well-known physician in Now York. It says much for her patriotic feeling that the beautiful American actress has selected her husband from her own country, for never yet had any girl a wider choice of husbands of all nationalities. Although all sorbs of wild and foolish rumours have been circulated about her engagements from time to time, it is well known that Miss Anderson has had many flattering offers from distinguished Englishmen, to -say nothing of the multitude of foreign nobilities who have laid their titles ab her feet.
