(By Ei.kctuio Teuegraph); (FROM OUR OWN CORRESCONDUNT). LATEST FROM AUCKLAND. FIRE S. AUCKLAND, Last Night. Deane’s jam factory at Ponsonby has been totally destroyed by fire. The origin is a mystery. Mr Deane was absent at Te Aroha, and Mrs Denpo and family were first aroused by the foreman of the Ponsonby fire brigade. The whole premises are insured in the Norwich Union, and half re-insured in the Phoenix. The residence of Mrs McAlpine, at Tamaki, has been burnt down. It was insured for £250 in the Soath British. SERtOUS ACCIDENT TO A YOUNG LADY. Miss Emma Featherstone, aged sixteen, eldest daughter of Mr Featherstone, Nortli Shore, was crushed between a steamer and n pile of the wharf. She has sustained serious internal Injuries, and her recovery is doubtful. LA GRIPPE IN AUCKLAND.
