The potato market is clearer; but little improvement in prices, onions in fair demand. Good bacon is wanted. Cheese luis gone off fairly we'.l. Fresh butter in good demand. Fresh eggs wanted. Salt butter slow, i ruit. a large supply ; goo I demand ; satisfactory prices. There have been three sales. Poultry : A large supply, and better prices. Pigs Not a large number entered; prices were good. Light sales by auction have been held ; all have been well attended. Monday, at the mart : Pawnbroker's sale of unredeemed pledges from Mr Keesing. pawnbroker, Vic-toria-strect; also, at the residence of the late Mrs Hen y Ridings, Grafton Road, her household furniture and effects. Tuesday, at tlie residence of Mr \V. Messrs A. Buckland a\'d Sons’ Weekly Report.—At the Hay market during the past week fodder has ranged from 2s 3d to 2s 9d the cwt; chaff, £2 15? to £3 the ton; maize, 2s 9d the bushel. Grass seed of all descr'ptions is now being inquired for. Holders should forward without delay. There has been no hide and skin sale this week, consequent on the death of Mr Geo. Ireland. At the horse sale on Friday horse stock wero in moderate number only, mostly old stagers; prices were without change: useful stock brought from £6 10 £lO each. At Ilemuera, on Thur. day, dairy cattle near calving were plentiful. Bidding was slow, and many were passed. Those sold brought from £3 5s to £4 5s each. Store cattle, particularly quiet cows, in better demand. Fat cattle in usual number. Slews were better worth 5s each, but cows at late values. Calves, short of requirements; prices in favour of the seller. Sheep, in moderate supply, at late values: Twotooth wethers, 10s: four-tooth, 11s 6d each. Lambs, plentiful; store lamb=, 5s to 6s; fat lambs, 7s to 10s each. Pigs, scarce ; porkers brought from 15s to 24s each
