Wool continues to come forward freely, and brought 61d, 7d, 71d, B|d, and 9d the lb. At the sales of cattle, held respectively at Polceno and Drury, not many were yarded, and consequent on the dry weather store cattle are dull of sale, but dairy cows at their profit are in demand at improved values. At Remuera, on Thursday, dairy cows were net in demand; prices ranged from £2 to £5 5s each ; store cattle in limited number were dull of sale ; fat cat'le in usual number were at last week’s tallies—14s to 15s for steers, and 11s the ICOlb for cows. Fat sheep in full supply were also without alteration in value; two-tooth wethers averaged 10s; four-tooth, lls 6d; ewes, from 3s 6d to 9s; lambs, 5s 6d to 8s 61 each. Dairy and store stock were unaltered in value, but there was a slight depression in fat stock. The number yarded at Newmarket on Tuesday was scarcely so large as usual, but was sufficient for immediate wants, and there %vas an indisposition evinced to purchase more than for immediate'wants, as feed and water is a serious consideration, but there was no noteworthy alteration in the value of dairy and store stock. Steer beef ranged from 12s to 14s per 3001 b ; cow. 10s to 12$. Figs: Fairly represented, and sold at from 2d to 3d per lb, live weight. Messrs G. W. Binney and Sons’ Retort.— On Tuesday we cleared an average lot of hides, sheepskins, wool, tallow, etc. The advance of last week was well maintained, and all met ready sale. We expect a firm market as buyers are bidding freely throughout for hides, skins, etc. Reports from other markets are batter, and the large stocks that had accumulate 1 are now cleared, and an advance has taken place with every prospect of better trade throughout.
