There was no insurance. The loss is estimated at £SOO. ARRIVAL OF DIRECT STEAMER. OVER ONE HUNDRED PASSENFOR NEW ZEALAND. The direct steamer, Ruapehu, reached Wellington today, having on board over one hundred passengers for New Zealand. RETURN OF CAPTAIN R(JSSELL FROM THE FEDERATION CONFERENCE. Capt. Russell, who was the New Zealand representative at the Federation Conference, returned I'rppi Sydney to-day by the Mapapouri, AUCKLAND HARBOUR BOARD. Mr Malcolm Niecoll was re-elected Chairman of Auckland Harbour Board
to-day. Mr Devore declined to stand. MINING SH A REMARKET. There were sales of Saxon’s to-day at 5s 10*1 and 6s ; Trenton’s, 3s Id ; New Alburnia, 2s lOd ; buyers of Trenton, 3s ; Moanatairi, 5s ; New Alburnia, 2s 9d.
