A young swimming phenomenon has turned up in England, in the shape of a Lancashire lad named Tyers, who won the Youths’ Swimming Championship at the Aquarium, Westminster, in November last. This lad, who has only just turned 13, swam the distance (120yds) in l Imin 36see. Busst, the Victorian bicyclist, -who seems so ready to turn professional, has been behaving in an extraordinary manner at some sports lately, striking another competitor in the face, half killing him afterwards in a hotel, and generally conducting himself like a blackguard.
