RACE MEETING.
A meeting of the Te Aroha Racing Club was held in the Palace Hotel, Te Aroha, on Saturday evening last; the following being present: Messrs J. Woods, A W Edwards, Br alley, D. AicNicol, Downes, AlcCullagh, Brennan, G Lipsey, Scarborough, A. Comes, and Alenzie. On the motion of Air Downa*? seconded by AH Bradley, Air AloCuHagh was voted to the chair. Air Bradley stated that the Ohinemuri Jockey Club hail decided to have their race meeting this year on Monday, Alarch 17th ; and that the Cambridge race meeting would likewise be held on St. Patricks Day. Resolved on the motion of Air Downes, seconded by Air Edwards, That the Te Aroha race meeting this year be held on Friday, March 21st, in Air J. Wood’s paddock, Te Aroha West, Mr Bradley asked how much the Club had to their credit. Air Downes said he believed about Ll 5.
Resolved that a meeting be held on Tuesday, 18th inst., in the Hot Springs Hotel, for the purpose of drawing up the programme of events, etc. The following officers were then elected : President, Air E. W. Hanmcr; Vice-President” Air W. H. Berries ; Treasurer, Air A. W. Edwards; Secretary. Mr A. Alenzie ; Oerk of the Scales, Mr G. F. AlcCullagh ; Clerk of the Course, Mr R. Parr; S'ait r, .Mr J. AicNicol ; Ju.ige. Afr A. D.wiies; Ilamlicapp rs : Alessrs.. It. Brennan ami J. Wiseman ;
Stewards, Alessrs G. Lipscy, A. W. Edwards ; D. AicNicol, T. Bradley, R. Brennan, J. Wiseman, and M. Murphy. This was all the business. The'programme drawn up last evening, at the meeting held at the Hot Springs Hotel, comprises seven events ; the stakes amounting to £lO5. The full programme will appear' in our next issue,
