AUSTRALIAN FEDERATION.
THE TARIFF PROBLEM. London, February 16. The “Standard,” writing on the question of Australian Federation, is hopeful that a compromise will be arrived at on the tariff question. It also expresses the opinion that the proceedings of the Convention should be secret, and says that otherwise a workable compromise would be impossible.
