NEW ZEALAND EXHIBITION.
Additional jurors’ awards have been made as follows :
Musical Instruments. —Piano :—Firsts: C. Begg and Co., for Schieamayer, Justin, Drown, Bach, and Coilard and Collard; Milner and Thompson, Christchurch, for grand and cottage pianos, by Haake ; Nell and Co., for Neufeld ; C. Callis, Wellington, for Strohmonger and Sons ; Dresden Piano Company, for Bell and Co. Seconds : Begg and Co., for Konisch ; C. Callis, for Strohmonger and Sons ; Dresden Company, for Koche and Sohne. Third class: C. Begg and Co., for Model, and also for G. Hehl; Neill and Co., for Neufeld ; Charles Callis, for Strohmonger and Sons. Milner and Thomson received a first-class award for tuning improvements. Organs : C. Begg and Co., first, for Kimbell and Sons ; Dresden Company, second, for G. Bell and Co. ; and C. Begg and Co., third for Beethoven organ. Alimentary Products. —Biscuits : W. Wright, Dunedin, thirty-three first and live second awards ; Phoenix Confectionery Company, Dunedin, twenty three first and fourteen second ; J. Bell, Clyde, one first, four seconds, and four thirds ; McCrone, Invercargill, two third class. The jurors remark that J. Bycroft and Co.’s (Auckland) exhibit was withdrawn, owing to the sample tin having been broached and left open. It was inspected by them, and pronounced equal in appearance to any of the other exhibits. Other awards were New Davis sewing machine, Hudson and Co., Christchurch, Ist; fire and burglar proof safe, Jas. Mann. Dunedin, Ist; spinning wheel, David Ross, Invercargill, 2nd ; lifting jack, Brown and Smaill, Gisborne, Ist. Australian and foreign exhibitors also receive awards. Guest and Co., Melbourne, received first award for collective exhibits.
