DRAUGHTS ITEMS.

The match Town v. Country was played on New Year’s Eve in Robson’s Rooms, Queen-street. It created an amount of interest, over 50 lovers of the silent i>anie being in attendance. The Town players proved too much for their opponents, and the match ended with a majority of 29 games in favour of the Town. Regret was felt by some present that Mr Wilson, of Avondale, did not play for the Country. During the evening light refreshments were handed round, and altogether the meeting was of an enjoyable nature.
