GAS EXPLOSION. Invercargill, Dec. 231.
By a gas e?v plosion in the Inveicargill Station on Saturday, Mr W. H. Gtaw, district tiaffic manager, and Mr James, Lawson, resident engineei-, were. injured. ilfc| appears when the gas was turned off at the meter on Friday, a jet in the strong-room was overlooked. This morning Messrs vTaw and Lawson went to the strong-room. The latter went inside, where he struck a light and an explosion followed, Mt Lawson being, blown outjof the 'strong-room, while Mr Gaw, who was in .the office, olifcside,\ was thrown violently on bh'e flobr^.
