A Hungarian Romance
A short time ago a young student applied for admission as pnpil to the priest's seminary at Balocsa, Hungary, and being duly prcnided with examination certificates, \va3 at once received. The new pupil led exactly the same life as the other inmates of the establishment, and showed a marked disposition for study. Some ' time ago Cardinal Haynald visited the seminary, and in the garden met the newcomer, who bowed respectfully, but contrary to custom, did nob kiss the Cardinal's hand. His' Eminence not only noticed the omission, but ifi 1 led him to examine tho candidate priest" somewhat closer. The efteminate face of the young priest turned scarlet under the Cardinal's scrutinizing ga/e, whereupon the prelate uttered a few words in a low tone that caused the former to return i quickly to the house. Five minutes afterward this mysterious, personage had left the premises, and has nob since gone back. Rumour says the individual was a lady, j who felt an irresistible vocation to become a priest.— " London Telegraph."
