THE LABOUR DISPUTES. London, December 14.
The gas companies have been successful in icplacinjr the hands out on strike. The gas sbiikers' pickets have been withdrawn, as they found it impossiblb to pie vent the engagement of blackleg?. A hundred and sixty of the Victoria dockers have stiuck owing to non-Union carmen and companies resisting the domands made. Owing to tlie stiikes in tho Victoria docks, it it probable the export trade will be hampered. The police are acting strictly in repiessing any disorder. The ga3 companies are confident they will be able to obtain sufficient coal supply, despite the efforts made by the coal porter^ to prevent it. The sailors and firemen have agreed to join with the Union in boycotting the Gas Company which have arranged for bringing coal from Hambuig. The Gas Company have applied for warrants against thirty of the porters engaged by them who have left without giving notice.
