THE GAS STRIKE. HIGHER WAGES OR SHARE OF PROFITS. London, December 8.

The Metropolitan gas strikers have endorsed the action of the South London gasmen in affirming the principle that highev pay is preferable to sharing the profits. Messrs Peto, the contractors, are offering their workmen a quarter share of the protits if they will agree not to strike. London is at present picketed largely with police, who are guarding the blacklegs.
