OBITUARY. London, December 7.

The Hon. David Plunkett, Resident Magistrate, is dead. The deceased was fourth son of the third Lord Plunketb, and consequently a erandson of the tirst Lord Plunkett, tho great orator and lawyer, who held the Great vSeal of Ireland" from 1830 to 1841. Ho was born on December 3rd, 1838, and was educated at Trinity College, Dublin, where he took his Bachelor's Degree in 1859. He waa called to the Irish Bar in 1862, and in 1868 waa appointed "Law adviser to the Castle at Dublin." He was nominated a Q.C. in 1868. He was elected M. P. for the University of Dublin in theConservativeinteresb in 1870, when he succeeded to the vacancy caused by the retirement of Mr Anthony Lefroy. Mr Plunket was Solicitor-General for Ireland from December 1874 till March 1877.
