Messrs Arihur and Buddles Weekly Revort.—Since our last report seven sales by aiiction have been held. Saturday, at Birkenhead, on the premises lately occupied by Me Stilwell : His Jive slock, horses, pigs, poultry, baker's utensils, household furniture and effect?, harmonium, etc. There was a good attendance, and fair prices were obtained. Monday: Gladstone Road, Povnell, at the residence ot Mrs Gilkeson, her household furniture, poultry, etc. There was a very large attandance ; all sold at good prices. Tuesday, at the mart, freehold properties, at Birkenhead and Northcote; but tew piv&ent; nobuainesa done. Wednesday, at the mart: household furniture, piano, etc. Not a large number present. Bidding languid ; piano brought £20. Thursday, Graf ton I?oad, cat the residence of Mr George Smith (who is returning to r* elson), his household furniture t-ncl effects, piano, lathe, Tann's iron safe, etc. There was a^ very full attendance, biisk bidding; evei-ything brought 'good prices. The safe, £10 10s; piano, £17; lathe, £3 17s 6d ; telescope table, £4 12s 6d ; chiffonier; book case, £4 2s 6d ; chests of drawers, £1 Idjs ta £2 Is ; looking glass, 31s, &c, &c. Tuesday and Friday at the Mart, poultry, produce, fruit, and, gi ocerics, 6cc. ; both were well attended by th.Q tradd and a largo amount changed hands. There has been a large supply of produce of aU kinds, and a good demand. New potatoes have been a little firmer, but growers must not glut the market. Old potatoes put of date. Yesetables have brought fair price 3. Fresh buttop has not come to hand quite so freely ; a fa,ir demand for good quality. Salt butter still Quiet, Cheese has come to hand freely ; supply ratherbeyond the demand. Bacon and hams have been entered in large qiiantity : it muat be good to command attention. Honey, both in section and tin, is not in groat demand. No eggs entered for Friday's sale; there whs a, demand. Grain and chaff quiet, Fruit has come to hand in fair quantity ; all has moved off freely. Poultry: A large number of hens entered ; prices ruled low ; but few cook-, erels. these brought high prices, and there was a 'demand for a much larger number. Chicks brought a fair price. A large number of ducks entered, prices ruled low ; there was not a good demand. A fair number of geese were entered. Not many turkeys brought forward, but few gobblers, these sold at high prices ; there was an unsatisfied demand. Pigs: But few entered, these brought fair prices.
