Violent Storm.

Tub showers and heavy gusts of wind on Sunday, developed into quite a severe storm on Sunday night ; and on Monday the wind blew with very great violence, accompanied by haavy rain, which blew up under the weather boards and penetrated many buildings in a manner unusually severe even at To Aroha. The wind blew with great force throughout all the Forenoon pf Monday, and did considerable damage to fences and small buildings. Amongst damage done we may mention that a portion of *llr Coulthard's flax mill atTe Aroha was unroofed; also a house at Waiorongomai, occupied byMrR. McLeod, bootmaker. The damage ta gardens was very great, fruit (mor-e especially apples), was regularly thrashed off t'.ie trees by the violence of the wind, whilst peaa and beans, tomatoes, cabbages, etc., were beaten down and much injured. Heavy rain^set in during the^ day, after which the wind went down.
