Tjie market for hemp to-day closes voy firm at the quotations annexed, whil&t tow U all but unsaleable, common at £(>, and fair £6 10?. Until some better method of cleaning and preparing the Low is adopted, ib is useless to continue consignments or to hope for much, if any, better prices than those now current here. Stocks and deliveries of New Zealand, hemp for month ending 30th September are : — Landed, 347 tons; delivered, 333 ton?; stock, 812 tons. Prices current : Wellington, fine, £32 10a to £35 10s ; good, £31 to £31 10s ; mil. to fair, £29 to £30 10s ; com. to mid., £26 to £28 10s ; low and ord. (nominal), £22 10s to £25 10?. Auckland, tine, £33 to £35 10s ; good, £31 10s to £32 ; mid. to fair, £29 to £31 ; com. to mid., £28 to £29 10s; low and ord. (uomiiml), £24 to £25 10d.
