A special meeting of the Te Aioha, Town Board was held on Thursday event ing last. Present — Messrs- E. Grallagher(chairrnan), Heathcote and Mills... The business for which the meetingwas convened was to consider the proposed expenditure of a rate about to be levied. The following report from the EngU qeer was read and adopted. TeAroha,Nov. 21, 1889Chairman, Te Aroha Town Board* Sir, — In accordance with your instFUotions I have examined tho works you. desired me to look at, with a view to. giving an estimate of their cost^ viz :— forming Rewi Street, part of Kenrick Street, part of Wilson Street, pipes across Kenrick Street, near the Public Hall,. a.nd repairs to footpaths, No, 1, Rewi Street : I would suggestthat this street, between Renjick andKolleston Streets, be formed fclie full width, thus making a permanent work ; and that the portion between Kenrick and Bridge Streats should ha,ve the footpath formed, and the Foad made say of half the whole width, and pipes laid where necessary, more particularly at tha back of, the Palace Hotel, and near- Mr Emerson's. No. 2, Kenrick Street : The portion of this street between Whitaker and Rewi Street should be drained and foimed the whole width.
