Town Board,
The. ordinary monthly meeting of the Te Aroha Town Board was held on Saturday evening laat.~ Present i Messrs Edw. Gallagher (chairman), Heathcote, Lipsey, and Mills. The minutes of the last monthly meeting were rond and confirmed, . Correspondence j Froni Messrs A. Cleave and Co., proprietors of the A. B,C, Directory, Auckland, stating the Directory, would include a Provincial Gazetteer, and asking for certain infori motion relative to the township. The Clerk was instructe J to supply the information required. From Audit Department, requesting that the sumof£l 13s 4d for auditing the Board's books be paid into the Bank, and the receipt sent on to the Audit Office. Received. The Clerk stated the amount to the credit of the Board in the l}ank N.Z. was £13 14s sd, Tenders : The following tenders were received for forming about seven chains of footpath from the Hail way cottages to Ah Yang's (Chinaman's garden), and erecting footbridge } also piping and filling up gully near Mr P. Baines residence j F. McPevitt, £17 10s; R. Michael, £14 15s j P. Baine, £l£ 5s 5 J. Lynch, £12 ; Owen McCabe, £12 ; P. Dillon, £11 17s; W. Thomson, £10 19s; W. Hetherlngton (accepted;, £8. Notice of Motion— A lUto to be Struck : The Chairman gave notice that he would move at the next ordinary monthly meeting : That a rate of sixpence in the pound be struck on all the ratable property in Te Aroha Town District.
