Oribb, on behalf of the Carrington Stud Company, and has arrived in Brisbane. From Sydney comes news of the death. of the imported trotting sire Childe Harold. The hor?e was bred by Mr A. J. Alexander, at the Woodburn stud, Kentucky, U.S.A., and wa? imported by Mr Andrew Town. His breeding was exceptionally good, as he wa« by Harold from Young Portia, by Mambrino Chief trom Portia, by Roebuck from a Whip mare ; and his sire was by Rysdyk'p Hambletonian (sire of Dexter) from an Old Abdallah mare. While engaged at Hobartville stud he sired a number of handsome youngsters, who reali&ed good prices, and many of whom have shown their superiority on the track and in the ring. At the 'ast sa'e of blood stock at Hobartville a two - year - old son of Childe Harold and Violet'a realised 670 guineas.
