MELBOURNE CUP AND DERBY TROPHIES.
This year's trophy for the Melbourne Cup consists of a solid silver tea and coffee service, with a &et of Dresden china cups and saucers, on a massive salver, the latter the heaviest yet made to a Melbourne Older. The teapot, etc., aie of square shape, with rich Japanese ornamentation and chasing. A most striking trophy is that pre.«en hed by Mr Isidore Moss as an addition to the Derby prize. This is a cup standing over 2fb in height. The cover is surmounted by a figure of Victory, holding in hor hand the blue riband with which the i winner of the Derby i$ decorated. -• The [ tuo handle.-, of the cup are formed ot horses' head-, with attendant Cupids. In! .a medalliou on, fche sitfe'js a group of racehor&es, with the enamelled colours of Mr d.' White, Mi' D. S. Wallace, Mr xM.' Loughfin, Sh\W. J. Claikc, Mr S. Miller,* I and ofchrrs.
