Champion G. and S. Mines, Tui : Work in connection with bringing down quartz by means of £the aerial tramway has been temporarily suspended this woek j during which time the additional 15 buckets (making a total of 66), have been attached, (as reported in our issue of Saturday last, was qbctqt to he done^. of these buckets, several extra trestles were found necessary, and these have been constructed and placed in position. It is expected the transport of quartz will re-commence early next week, and we understand Mr Johnston, uuder whose superintendence the aerial tramway has been erected, expects to then hand over the line to the Company ; having satisfactorily tested its capabilities and efficiency.

Mining Company: Tho fire in tho water Jacket furnace was life up on Thursday afternoon, and smelting commenced yesterday for the third, and, for the present, final run, The furnace is working most satisfactorily :.n: .n every respect. The whole of the ore on hand will probably be all through by about the middle of next week. Crushing is progressing steadily with the new twenty head of stampers. Wiili respect to mining operations on the Hill there is no change to report.
