THE AUCKLAND MARKETS.
Messrs Alfred Ruckland and Sons Weekly Report.— On Tuesday hides and skins were in larger number than for many weeks. Ox hides kept their values, and cow hide-* wpie hotter worth. Sheepskins were also better woitli. Prices were* — For ox hides, from 3d to 4d ; cow hides, 2d to 2£d ; calf skins, 4d and 4£d per lb; bones, 4« 9d ; tallow, 17s and 17s 6d per cwt ; pelts, 7£d to" 9d ; lamb skins, Is to lw 6d ; bu teller's sheep skins geneially, 'is to fis. but one parcel brought 8s 5d each ; wool in bags, 6£d to Bid per lb. At the cattle fair held at Romuera on Saturday last, a less number were penned than was advised. There was a numerous attendance of buj-ere: and the prices obtained were the higest of the season. At Remuera on Thursday, dairy cattle were dull of sale. Store cattle in large numbers were in request at full values. Fat cattle in average numbers, fully kept last week's values, from 16s to 18Hper 100 lbs. Some averages were .—5O. — 50 steers, 6s LG 24 steers L 7 ;20 steers, L 5 I7s ; 8 steers, L 6 5s ; 8 steers, L 6 7s ; 16 steers, LG Is. Calves numerous, generally of small size, and brought from 4s to 15s each. Sheep, in average supply, were better worth than last week, Is each ; store wethers broughi fram 12>> 9d to 14s ; longwooled wulhersin in tlu,ir wool, 18* to 20s ; woolled crossbred wetheis, 13s to Iss. Lambs were numerous, and lower th.in last week, about Is each, they brought from 6s to 13s, but the greater number from 8s to lls ; pigs plentiful, kept their values. Thero is a good inquiry for quiet stores.
