THE DUNEDIN EXHIBITION. UNION STEAMSHIP COMPANY'S ARRANGEMENTS.

The fact that so many Victorian legislators have accepted the invitation of the Commissioners to be present at the opening of the Exhibition, and also the probable adjournment of th 6 Victorian Parliament to enable members to be present at the open ing ceremony, point 3 to the conclusion that the Exhibition, together with the scenic beauties of the colony, is likely to attract considerable attention on the other side, and there is every indication of a very large tourist traffic setting in to New Zealand during the summer months. It is now definitely announced that the s.s. Mararoa will leave Melbourne on the 20th November so as to arrive at the Bluff on Monday, the 25th, and Dunedin on the 26th November, the day of the opening of the Exhibition, and it is expected that she will have a large number of passengers. In anticipation, of this her very fine second saloon, which is on the same deck as the first saloon has been ko arranged that it can be used tor first class passengers, while altogether new anangements have beeu made for the second class passengers on the lower deck. The return ticket from Melbourne to BlufThas been fixed at £10 for saloon, and £5 for second class. In addition to the ordinary service from Melbourne by the Union Company's steamer once a week, the Mararoa will run special trips every 10 days if it is found necessary. Provision is also being made by the Union Company for carrying a large number of passengers on the coast by the ordinary steamers, and with this object in view addibioned accommodation is to befitted in the Waihora, Taraviera, Rotomahana, Te Anau, Rotorua, Ringarooma, etc. For the convenience of visitors from the North, the Takapuna and Penguin will leave Onehunga each Tuesday and Friday, making fast trips ti rough to Lyttelton in connection with the" train service. The Ringarooma and Rotorua will run between Kelson and Dunedin, via Wellington and Lyttelton, leaving Dunedin on Mondays and Fridays, and Nelson on Tueedays and Thursdays. There will thus be three steamers a week to and from Dun-* edin and Northern j.orbs, and a daily ateamei between Lyttelton and Wellington in connection with bho railway service. Return ticketß for the Exhibition will be issued by all steameisjjab the following lates: -Return tickets (in connection with the tiain set vice) from Auckland to Lyttelton, saloon £6, second-class £4 ; from Nelson, C 3 10s and £2 10s ; from Napier, £4 and £2 10s ; from Wellington, £2 and £1 ss. These tickets will be available tor one month, but in addition to these theie will be return tickets at single fares issued once a week by the steamer leaving Nelbon on Thursdays, Wellington on Fridays, and Lyttelton on Saturdays for Dunedin, available tor a fortnight. These aie-- will be : from Nelson, £4 10s saloon and £3 second-class ; Wellington, £3 and £2 ; Lyttelton, 30s and 20s. All passengers will have the option of breaking the journey en route at any port of call.
