Melbourne, October 21. During the discussion of the Estimates the qutsiion of shipping butter to England was referred to. Mr Do*.v, Minister of Agriculture, admitted his department had been unable to obtain the right to use Pond's boxes (New Zealand patent), and if they imported the boxes ready-made a duty would have to be paid. He bad surmounted the difficulty by instructing the Government analyst to ascertain the component pairs of the enamel, and then using the invention in the Victorian-made cases.
