Tho question of Bending a New Zealand cricket team to Tasmania this season is likely soon to come up in some practical form. There is some talk in ' .Southern papers of sending a team picked from Canterbury and Otago over during the summer ; but nothing definite has yet been done. Is the rest of the colony not to have any say in the matter ? The following are the final results of the English h'rst-clas«j matches. Notts, Lancashire, and Surrey are bracketed together for first place on the new principle of allowing a point for a win and half a point for a draw. Under the old rulo Notts would, of course, have been at the top with only two losses, but the present modo is by far tho most fair :—: —
