Now from afar the golden-created hills Oast their long shadows o'er the dusky plain«, While solemn peace the fading: landscape flU»; As the bright sun in crimson splendour wanes. The silfent birds from 'neath each leafy bower In songless awe behold the radiant scene ; ' T «eir modest lays ill suit the sacred hour lhat wakes the chant of Philomel. tb'eSr What varied tints inflame the glowintt sky, t j £« t s ♦ tJ ! ei F S leftms a '«r land and sea afar. Like bursts of glory to the reverent eye. Jorth-beaming from the gates of Heaven ajar ! Wha brea°t^ rOUS Calm °' erfllls the fateful rrWn* ii * >vv * s a u^ se as sinka the crimson sun, 1 hat God may blesa ws at our last long rest Such peaceful glory when our race is run.
