LATEST FROM SAMOA. (FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.)
Since my last some of Tamasese's followers have been creating a disturbance in a part of Savaii. It seems that they seized and burnt a boat belonging to Malietoa's people and ill treated some of his adherents. So Malietoa has decided to puni&h them unless they swear allegiances to him, and for that purpose has despatched a body of men to Savaii. Should Tainasese's followers offer any re-ifetance their houses will be burnt, and they will be forced to join Tamasese in his fort at Leutnmuu.
DISTRESS IN" SAMOA. Tho necessity for outside assistance is now entirely at an end, although in some of the less favoured districos the natives are still rather short of food.
MEN-OF-WAR. The German warship Sophie is the only man-of-war in harbour afc present. The U.S. Adatns is at Fa^opago, but is daily expected to arrive here. Her commander, Captain Woodward, is eeiiously £21 in Apia. From advices received, no English man-of-war is to be expected until after the hurricane months, which means April noxr.
