Caaibiua. — The western drive is in a distance ot 38ft. The leader is about 8 inches in thickness, and shows gold when broken down. The No. 7 leader is about the same size and appearance. The two leaders in the leading stope over No. 7 diive average about five and three inches in thickness, showinggold freely. A few pounds of picked stone have been saved. The main reef is still carrying good mineral and looks very well. Lone Hand. —ln all the stopes the indications of better country are favourable, and gold is being seen freely. Saxon. — The country in the various stopes is very favourable, a good quantity of payable quartz coming to hand regularly. Good mineral continues in the various leaders. Cleaning-up and retorting took place yesterday for a yield of 31loz retorted gold, afberwards melted into a bar of 3()50z 17dwt, from 442 loads quartz and 351b picked stone. Paroquet. — The Paroquet Goldmining Company's mine at Waiomo was submitted for public competition to-day under warrant of distress, but not a single bid was elicited.

The miners of Otago intend holding a conference during the Exhibition period. The Government havo promised lo take steps to be represented on it.
