We learn from a genMeman who has been in thistrict for the past few days in connection with flax matters, that u good demand continues from America, and that the London market has a fiuner tendency, although the arrivals of poorly dressed parcels are doing much towards retarding business in our fibre. It i* true that it i--chiefly Southern flax which is complained pf, but at the same time some lots of Auckland quality have opened out biidly, and in the interests of all in the flax business, an well as in the interests of the Colony generally, millers should see to it, that their output should be such that repeat orders wdqld be found to follow In this w.iy our dolqny will be benefitted, and an industry fostered which will do much j;oward,s helping New Zealand out of its present difficulty.
