THE IRISH DELEGATES.
AUCKLAND VISIT POSTPONED.
The following letter from Mr John Dillon, one of the Irish Home Kule delegates, now in Australia,' has been received by the Auckland Dillon Reception Committee :—: — " West Maitland (N.S. W.),
August 24bh, 1889. "Messrs M. Sheehan, Wm. Jennings. " Gentlemen, — I wired to you to-day that I find myself obliged to postpone my visit to Auckland to October. I have found it utterly impossible to get away from Australia as soon as I supposed I could when last writing to you. The wonderful success of our mission in these colonies has made it necessary for us to give a great deal more time than we had calculated on. lam now on my way from Queensland to Sydney. From there I must go back to Melbourne for a convention and public meeting on the 17th September. I cannot be sure of sailing for Auckland before October 25th. I think you can eafely calculate on my being in Auckland about November 18tb, but I hope to be able to write in a week or ten days fixing the boat by which I ehall sail. I shall then be able to let you know definitely whether my two colleagues will go with me. " Your.-; binceroly, '•John Villou."
