Bull Fighting in Paris.

The Paris correspondent of the ' Morning Post ' thus describes the first bull - fight given in Paris in connection with'fche Exhi bition : — The arena in which the performance is given is on a large scale, and the ' fight ' was of a tar more cruel and disgusting character than is the mild exhibition of performing bulls which takes place daily at a circus in the Quai de Billy, under the dignified title of courses de taureauz. At Wednesday's entertainment the Spanish toreadors were present in the full splendour of tights and tinsel, and worried a panting worn-out bull by alternately flourishing red cloths in its face and sticking its back full of darts ; these astounding achievements being accompanied by the flourish of trumpets and music of a remarkably bad brass band. For the credit of the French public it must be said that the spectators were exceedingly few. One or two of them, ' among whom I ' recognised a Boulangist politician of note, ' had fche courage to hi&s, and were immediately insulted in the grossest manner (so grossly, j in fact, as to render the continued presence 'of ladies impossible) by an excited group of persons, among whom were some women. Small as was the gathering, the overwhelm- ! ing majority, I regret to Say, of those present seamed to be quite in sympathy with and heartily applauded the" pompous ex- ' hibition of human poltroonery which Jwas 1 going on in the arena.
