THE CENTENNIAL DISASTER. NAUTICAL, INQUIRY PROCEEDING. Sydney, August 28.
An inquiry into the loss of the Centennial has been, commenced. The captain and officers of the Centennial aver that the course w r as altered to avoid colliding With the Kanahooka, which, however, also altered her course when she should not have done so. The Captain of : -the -Kanahooka states that the Centennial was on tfrc wrong side of the, harbour, and occupied such a position that she eitherihad to run upon* ihe r rocks or collide "with the Kanahooka, f ! ' * '' '
