J A special from Bryan, Williams County, U.S.A., July 21sfc, says : A horrible tragedy ,was enacted at Edgerton to-day. The wife ,of Hiram Hoadley loft him some time ago on account of domestic trouble and returned to the home of her father, a farmer named Newman. This mprning Hoadley w,ent to the Newman n residence early, and when his wife cameb.ut to go to the barnyard he seized her with his left hand and held her while he fired, three bullets into her breast, leaving'her for dead. Her ft ther hurried out on hearing th« shots, ana was fired on and killed by lioadley. Hoadley then pursued his ; rncfthieivin-law and his wife's younger sister,' and but for the timely, 'aid which reached them would doubtless have killed them -tool.. About six months ago Mrs Sylva returned to the parental roof, stating that her hubband would not support her.' Sylva airived.here this tno'rnirig and went to his wife's father's house. He asked his wife :" Allie, will you return to me?' The young woman replied in the negative, whereupon Sylva fired at her and she fell. Sylva then turned tfie /njoapoji upon himself and pent, a ball inW ' his brain. He will die. J\l rs Sylva was not hurt."
