AUCKLAND RACING CLUB PROGRAMMES.

The Committee of the Racing Club finally dealt with the programmes for the forthcoming season on Thursday, and from an advance copy supplied me by Mr Percival, I learn that the amount of added money to be given away totals up to £6,990 against £6,350 last season, showing an increase of £430. There has been little actual increase to the races of lost year, the amount being given lh new events bringing up the added money to the amount stated. As usual, the Spring Meeting will extend over two days, the 9th and 11th November ; the Summer Meeting "is fixed for the usual dates, Boxino- Day and Ist and 2nd of January; the Autumn Meeting for Easter Monday and Tnesday, and the Winter Meeting for the 7th of June. The Auckland Cup added money remains at 500 soys., but the Great Northern Steeplechase has been raised to 300sovs. The.principal new event is the Musket Stake 3, of 150sovs., run on the third day of the Sumnier Meeting. Altogether the programme is an excellent one, and the Committee intend to treat the public most liberally by throwing open the gates free on both days of the Spring Meeting. The following table shows the amounps of added money given for the past six seasons, and that proposed to be given during next season :—: —
