Morrinsville Band of Hope.
The quarterly public meeting in connection with Morrinsville Temperance Society, was held iv the school-room, on Saturday last ; and, as usual on thess occasions, there was a very larije attendance, numbers being unable to find seats. Mr H. Buttle presided. The programme, which was greatly appreciated by the audience, was as follows : — Opening Hymn, 28 Sankey's ; reading from Scripture and prayer ; recitation, The Wise Man, Miss Bessie Turnbull ; song, Jack's Yarn, Mr Williaius; recitation, The Bird hus Returned, Master Bobbie Bryant ; song, Merry Dick, Muster C. Snell ; recitation, Trouble your heads with your own affairs, Mr W. Tmnbull ; song, Eileen Al'anah, Mr Howe ; recitation, Twenty years ago, Mr Lusby ; song, Never, Never Drink, Master J. Snell ; reading, Mr Hopkins ; duet, I Know n Bank, Mrs Snull and Miss llorrell ; recitation, The Gambler's Wifp, Mr Kershaw ; song, We go, We go, Mr Bryant ; glee, Happy Home, The Choir 5 recitation, Mi<*s Bryant ; song, Rock me to Sleep, Mr Snell ; dialogue, Doctor Quack, Company ; song, Darby and Joan, Mrs Snell { reading, Mr

At a meeting of members held immediately afterwards for the purpose of electing officers, etc, for the ensuing twelve months, Mr Buttle was elected President ; Mr Whitburn, Vice-President ; Mr Horrell, Secretary and Treasurer. A Committee of fivo was also appointed, — Cor-espon-dent.
