AUCKLAND RACING CLUB PROGRAMMES.

The sub-committee of the Auckland Racing Club have uobjct completed their labours on the programmes for nexb season, but I by the end of the forthcoming week bhoy will probably be finally passed. I expressed the opinion the other week that it would be imprudent for the Club to think of the added money totalling up to more than last year, and in a conversation I havo sines had with those who hold the rein? of office, they agree with me. Why not cut down the Spring Meeting to one day (the 9th November) V say I, for we are vox, likely f o have any visitors, and the ci earn of the local horses will no doubt; be at Christchurch. This sea«on, the Champagne Stakes is reduced 50sovs and the St. Loerer 100«ovp, and with this amount it is intended to have a new race on the programme, called the " Musket Stake°." It is framed on t.he same lines as the Christchurch Middle Park Plate. Whether the Auckland Cup will be increased to 600sovs is an open question.
