THE MAYBRICK POISONING CASE. LONDON, August 5.
An analyst attiehed to the Home Office who lias been engaged investigating the Maybrick case\ states that' tfi'e ileath of-" May brick was not caused by arsenical' poison, The,ies«lt of his investigations showed that death resulted from gasfroenoteritis. The "prisoner, Mrs Maybrick, who is charged with- poisoning h^r< husband, stated that she 'pnrchastid fly puppM, for th»» purpose of'tnnkim? a face wash, the night before Maj brick died. Her husband implored her to give him tiio powder and she refused' until h<j declared it would do no harm to his food ; she then placet! the powder in a tin of meat ju'ee. She then left home and when she returned he/ "husband was , asleop. Ho had never tasted , the contents of the tin, nud she was unaware that they were arsenical until after his death.
