The Jury state in their Report : — " It is very satisfactory to be able to note in this connection that the r e was a reimukable concensus o£ opinion as to the merit*- of the exhibits, often amounting to unanimity , and this oven when the members were blinded, which was frequently done. M»n\ of tlie ales of all kinds were very fine, and those which woe' off' weie such as were- veiy unlikely to have taken a place in any ea^e ; in fact, the survival of tlie fittest has been effected by natural selection."
