Mining News. KARANGAHAKE. [From our own Correspondent.] Karangahake, Friday.
I hear that the directors of the Woodstock Company have hail a cash offer for their mine (to buy rityht oue) j but have not learned whether it has-been accepted or not. The Experimental plant ha 9 not made a start yet, but is all in readiness for doing so, Kenilworth : Both parties of tributers in this mine are still on good ore. Moore and party are forwarding a small parcel to the Cassel Gold Extracting Co.'s plant for treatment. Crown G-.M. Co.: There is nothing new from this mine, the sinking of the main winze is being pushed on expeditiously, the low level is nearly under the winze, and the workings in other parts of the mine are all in full swing, beating out pay dirt for the grinders. The late rai"s washed away the Dallast from the lower portion of the county tramway, besides which there are numerous small slips in parts of the mine, Ivanhoe and Truro : Urge number of hands are employed in this mine, and the battery is kept going steadily on the quartz now. Ivanhoe Battery : This battery is again at work grinding tailings.
