HOME RULE AND FEDERATION.

Auckland, June 15. Mr W. L. Bright, M.P. for Sboke-on-Tront, and youngest son of the late Hon. John Bright, is at present on a visit to this city in company with Mrs Bright, having arrived here by the Mariposa yesterday. The object of Mr Brighb's visit to the colonies is to obtain refab and for the benefit of his health, which of late has not been robust. Mr and Mrs Bright left England on May 16th last, in the direct steamer Doric, and disembarked at Hobart. Thence they pro ceeded to Launceston, Melbourno and Sydney, coming on to Auckland fiom the last named port. On amval horq they went to the Star Hotel, and this morning Mr Bright courteously supplied one of our representatives with .some information uponmattersofcolonialinterest. Mrs Bright, who was present at the interview, took a lively interest) in the subjects discussed, and manifested a thorough acquaintance with the burning political questions of the day. Speaking of his intentions, Mr Bright said that he did not propose to remain in Auckland long, as he was desirous of making a trip to the Hot Lakes, and then proceeding overland lo Wellington, in order to catch the Doric and take passage by her again on her homeward trip. He had been delighted with the Australian colonies, and with the city of Auckland, so far as he had been able to extend his observations, and regretted that he could nob make a more prolonged stay in this favoured corner of the British Empire.
