THE SPEAKER'S RULING.
On Wednesday e\ening, Mr Scobie McKenzie raised a point ot order that as the Private Schools Bill dealt with an appiopriation of the State fund.-, it ought to have originated in committee, but the Speaker ruled dHiere-nfcly. Mr McKenzie on Tuesday will move a series ot resolutions traversing Sir Maurice's ruling, and questioning his right to order members to be brief in their remarks.
