FLAX-DRESSING MACHINERY.
The Premier has already promised that the iron industry vrill be subsidised, and Mr Cadman yesterday asked him if he would also offer some reward for improvements in flax-dressing machinery, He showed that according: to the Agenb-General the only thing our flax exporters had to fear was sending Home badly-dressed flax, and he thought the Government might take the matter into con&ideiation, as it would be indirectly of great advantage to the whole colony. The Premier piomised that the question would have every consideration, and while declining to fix what hours the Government might give, he promised that it he thought it would be conducive to helping the industry he would be prepared to do as Mr Cadman desired.
